AYSO stands for American Youth Soccer Organization. There are nearly 630,000 players in AYSO and more than 250,000 volunteer coaches, referees and administrators. See the National website for the history and structure of AYSO.

LNSC stands for
Lancaster National Soccer Center.
The 14 million dollar complex is designed
exclusively for soccer and is served by professional staff. This LNSC grounds
are beautifully maintained by the City of Lancaster Parks and Recreation
department. All U5-
U14 regular league games are played on Saturdays. All U16-U19 regular league
games are played Tuesdays and Thursdays. Check out the
field locations. 
As the soccer season gets closer, you'll probably be asking the question
'Who is my coach'. With the vast community of commuters, and busy schedules
these days, you need to know what days of the week and times to set aside for
soccer practice. If you haven't heard from your coach by
the week before practice starts (U5 - U14, Aug 8th,
& U16-19 - Aug 1st), contact the
Appropriate Youth
Coordinator for assistance.

All games are played on Saturdays. Time will vary through out the day.
Check the Teams page for game times and
field locations. From the Teams page, just click on the
boys or girls Division that your child is signed up in and the schedule will
display. A team number will be associated with the team and Coach name. The
coach will officially set practice times and days. The U5/U6 teams will practice
one weekday and on the game field before the game. U8/U19 will practice,
on average, 2 nights per week. Most coaches will try to find a time
that is agreeable to all. Please remember it is the
coach who is volunteering their time to plan and conduct every practice and
game, so the practice days do need to ultimately fit their schedules.
AYSO will provide a pretty cool team uniform that includes shorts, a jersey,
and socks. The parents of these future soccer-stars will need to make an
investment in well-fitting soccer shoes,
specifically
for playing soccer on grass. For young
players, age 4 to about 8, any type of athletic or running shoes (not high tops)
is acceptable. Soccer shoes are different
from other cleat shoes - be sure you
get the right ones.
Some types of cleats are prohibited in soccer; such as
baseball cleats. If you are using a baseball cleat rather than a soccer shoe,
make sure the shoe does not have a center toe cleat or the Referee may make you
change your shoes for the safety of all team players. Age-appropriate shinguards will be
required for every practice and game, as this is a required piece of equipment
that will need to cover the shin area,
your player will not be allowed to play if he/she does not have them. An
age-appropriate size practice ball is the best way to learn and maintain basic
ball-handling skills before and after school, on weekends and during the summer.
Shoes, shinguards and balls are available at a number of sporting goods stores
around Lancaster and Palmdale - look in the Yellow Pages for the nearest store.

AYSO is a volunteer organization and chances are that something you think
should be done doesn't have someone available to do it. We have volunteers who
work hard to ensure the safety of the players, the formation of teams, the
distribution of uniforms and equipment, the scheduling of fields, games,
referees, clinics, summer camps, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the wonderful
folks who give up their time and energy to coach our children. The trainers and
referees are volunteers, and all the staff who hold this organization together
are volunteers. You could be a volunteer, too! Please see the positions we
have open on the Board to find an exciting opportunity
best suited to your volunteering needs! But if you do want to be heard, please
drop a suggestion, comment, or concern in the AYSO Kids Zone box that will be
located at the Staff Tent starting this season.
A written request for refund must be made via US MAIL ONLY. No
e-mail or verbal request will be accepted, no exception! The request must state
the players name and age, reason for withdrawal, and address to which refund
should be
mailed. All refunds are based on the postmarked date. Any team uniform received
must be
returned to the league. The refund check will be made out to the person who
signed the
Registration form, unless otherwise noted.
